Unforgettable scenery, rich history, fascinating culture and delicious cuisine await on our Italy tours. Many trips spend time in Italy's capital of Rome, where the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palantine Hill are popular stops. Sightseeing may include a visit to St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.

In Northern Italy, glide down the canals of Venice in a gondola or see a demonstration of Venetian glassblowing. Stops in Florence offer a glimpse of Michelangelo's David, one of the most famous sculptures in the world. Discover a massive collection of Renaissance art at the Uffizi Galleries or amble along Piazza del Duomo to see Florence Cathedral and Giotto's Campanile.

Tuscany's scenic countryside boasts coastal plains, rolling hills and beautiful vineyards. Explore the walled medieval town of San Gimignano and its 14 stone towers, then head to Pisa for a picture with its famous Leaning Tower. Highlights in nearby Siena include the 13th-century marble cathedral and Piazza del Campo (host of the Palio horse race twice a year).

The Campania region in Southern Italy stretches along the Tyrrhenian Sea and includes the enchanting seaside towns of the Amalfi Coast, the excavated ruins of Pompeii, the glamorous isle of Capri with its Blue Grotto and vibrant Naples, where pizza was said to have been invented.

Just off the coast of Italy's southernmost tip is Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. Cities like Palermo and Agrigento offer a host of historic treasures and ancient ruins that rival those of Rome. On the eastern edge of the island is Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe.
